Education in physics at the University of Freiburg (Germany) with a PhD in solar energy at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems.

More than 28 years’ experience in silicon solar and silicon material research and development. Material scientist with a strong commitment to apply technical results in dynamic business environments. He has coordinated numeral international European RTD projects and managed large research and development and engineering teams. He was responsible for the transfer of the RGS technology from Bayer Solar to ECN and later founded RGS Development B.V. With the spin-off of the silicon battery material company E-magy, his focus shifted to nano-porous silicon in next generation Li-ion batteries.
