Adriana Creatore obtained her MSc (1997) and PhD (2001) in Chemical Sciences at the University of Bari (Italy) in the field of plasma chemistry and plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition. She then joined the Applied Physics department at the Eindhoven University of Technology in 2001 as postdoctoral researcher. Since March 2019 she is full professor in atomic scale processing for next generation energy technologies. She presently focuses on the design and engineering of thin films and interfaces at the nanoscale by means of (plasma-assisted) atomic layer deposition. Examples are selective charge transport layers in metal halide perovskite solar cells and electro-catalysts for H2O splitting.
Adriana is also principal scientist of the focus area “Chemistry for sustainable energy systems” within the recently funded EIRES (Eindhoven Institute for Renewable Energy Systems) institute at TU/e. Her key-note presentation will introduce EIRES to the audience and discuss case-studies related to the detailed relationship between structure (e.g. morphology, oxidation states, dopants) and performance of electro-catalysts.
